Call to Order/Introductions: Chairman Mary Waldron called the meeting to order at 12:00 PM. Members were asked to introduce themselves.

Minutes of the June 6, 2016 Meeting: Pam McCarthy moved to accept the minutes of the June 6, 2016 meeting as written, seconded by Diana Jennings. So voted.

Guest Speakers: Presentation on the 2016 Massachusetts Economic Development Bill, State Representatives Michelle DuBois, Gerard Cassidy, Mass Office of Business Development (MOBD) Mr. Nam Pham, Assistant Secretary, Business Development, and Mr. Larry Cameron, Mass Development:

Representatives DuBois, Cassidy, Assistant Secretary Pham and Larry Cameron updated the committee on the new Massachusetts Economic Development Bill.

New Business:

University Center: Mary Waldron said Bridgewater State has applied to US EDA to be a University Center in partnership with OCPC, SRPEDD, the Cape Cod Commission and BAWIB.

Community Compacts: OCPC Executive Director Pat Ciaramella said the state is taking applications for communities to become community compact communities.

Efficiency and Regionalism Grant: Pat Ciaramella said the state is taking applications for this grant beginning October 17. Applications must be received by November 15.

Massachusetts Economic Development Council Fall Conference: October 28, 2016, Gardner Police HQ, 200 Main St., Gardner, MA 01440 “Urban Renewal-From Ingredients to the Final Product

Citizen Planner Training Collaborative (CPTC) Fall 2016 Workshops: CPTC will have 24 classes for citizen planners across the state this fall including classes at OCPC on October 26 and November 15. For more info and to register on line go to www.masscptc.org.
